Timothy O’Malley has been a member of Indiana University since 2011. He began in the IUPUI Honors College as an assistant director where he coordinated leadership programs and academically advised students from all majors on the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful honors scholar.
Before joining IU, Tim worked in housing administration and residence life roles at a variety of institutions, including Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI), Ball State University (Muncie, IN), and The Art Institute of Indianapolis. Tim holds a BS degree in mathematics and sociology from Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan and a MA degree in student affairs administration from Michigan State University. He completed a PhD in higher education and student affairs (2019) and a graduate certificate in institutional research (2018), both from Indiana University where his research interests include assessment of student learning, organizational development, program evaluation, and LGBTQ student success and identity development. Tim is originally from “The Thumb” area of Michigan and enjoys going out to new restaurants with his partner, Charles, and spoiling their Welsh Terrier puppy, Titan.
